Building safety in

Our team at the Contra Costa Transportation Authority is working hard to create a culture of safety by implementing effective strategies that reduce accidents, minimize risks, and improve the overall operations of our roadways. We strive to create a transportation system that places the well-being of every resident and commuter in Contra Costa County at the forefront.

We invite you to participate in our efforts as we work tirelessly to enhance safety standards, improve infrastructure, and implement innovative measures that promote safer travel for all. Together, we can build a future where safety is ingrained in every aspect of transportation, protecting lives and a sense of security on the road.

Countywide Vision Zero

Our commitment to safety extends to actively supporting and monitoring the Countywide Vision Zero initiative. This critical initiative is centered around the ambitious goal of eliminating fatalities and severe injuries resulting from transportation-related incidents within our county. It encompasses collisions of all severity levels, including property-damage-only incidents. Through the adoption of Resolution 21-40-G, we are steadfast in our determination to create a transportation system that prioritizes the preservation of life and minimizes the risks associated with road travel.
By closely monitoring the progress towards Vision Zero, we can assess the effectiveness of our strategies, enhance infrastructure, and promote safe driving behaviors. This is a shared responsibility, and together, we strive to create a safer, more secure transportation environment for all residents and commuters.
